Notre Dame of De Pere

Liturgy, Prayer, & Sacraments | In the Classroom

Liturgy

As a Catholic institution, the Mass is of utmost importance for a  faithfilled, educational experience.  At Notre Dame students, faculty, and staff participate in liturgy together once a week.  Student led Masses take place on Wednesday mornings at 8:30 a.m.  If there is a Holy Day during the week other than on Wednesday, the Mass will be held on the Holy Day of that week.  Mass takes place at St. Francis Church.  All are welcome to come celebrate with us.

Prayer

Prayer is a main focus for our lives as Christians.  At Notre Dame each day is begun with prayer, prayer is said before meals, and students are encouraged to take time out of their busy day to recognize God in their lives.  At the Middle School, each student has an opportunity to lead the school in morning prayer along with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Sacraments

Twice a year our students attend the sacrament of Reconciliation as a school.  Students go once during Advent and once during Lent, as a way to prepare for the beautiful celebrations at the end of each liturgical season.  Students and their families are encourage to take part in this great sacrament as often as they can.

**Reconciliation is offered at St. Francis Xavier in De Pere on Saturdays from 3:15-3:45pm and at St. Mary's in De Pere on Saturdays from 3:30-4:15pm.  One may also call the parishes for individual times.
